My sister informed me that my big, prego belly would elicit a lot of advice from various people I run into. I did NOT expect my ever-growing belly to turn heads, though..
Here's a few examples...
1) I was waiting for Joel at church and the pastor's 4 year-old son ran past me. My belly must have caught his eye because he zoomed back to where I was standing and practically shouted, "You are pregnant! I replied, "Yep, I'm having a baby." He immediately asked "When did it get in there?" I've never been asked this question, except by my OB. I thought quickly and answered, "The baby is about 6 months old!" I'm just glad he didn't ask me HOW it got in there :)
2) The other pastors son caught a glimpse of me the day before and observed "You are having a baby." I affirmed his observation. He wanted to know "when it was going to come out?" I never knew little boys would be so interested in pregnant people! I wonder if Joel asked pregnant ladies any funny questions when he was little?
3) My car mechanic asked me "How I was handling the heat?" I think this is the question I get asked the most.
4) Whenever I meet new people or run into those I have not seen in a while, I always notice their eyes darting from my eyes to my stomach. I can see they are DYING to ask whether I'm pregnant or not. Ha ha..I know that feeling.

Diaper Lessons
Joel has never changed a diaper, so I thought I'd give him a lesson. While Cocoa Marshmallow (my childhood teddy bear) is a bit bigger than our newborn will be (I hope!!!), I thought he'd make a good substitute for the time being. Joel looks really enthused about getting his picture taken with a fluffy, diapered, teddy bear, right? :)

Week 25
Week 25. Holy Moly. I'm always hungry! Do I really have 15 weeks left? I can't imagine getting much bigger, but am very excited to see my little girl in a few short months!!

How I really look....
I've been telling Joel that his primary job at this point in time is to convince me that I look pretty, despite the pounds I'm packing on. Let's see how he's doing...
1) The other day I was wearing a very comfortable summer dress. He stated that "I looked like I was wearing a mu mu." Although, I wasn't planning on wearing that outfit in public...I now refuse to walk Maddie in it.
2) He is constantly amazed by my appetite. So am I.
3) He pats my back while I'm losing the aforementioned appetite in the toilet. Isn't that the sweetest thing ever? It doesn't make me feel pretty, but I do feel very loved! BTW...Am I the only pregnant women that started getting morning sickness in her 2nd trimester?
4) He constantly reassures me that my face does not look puffier than it used to...I still think he's lying!
Despite the mu mu comment....I think he is doing a pretty good job...

Another Visit to the Big City
9/11 Memorial
Joel-not quite sure how to pose at a memorial (hence the lack of smile)
Lady Liberty
Don't take a picture of the tired and hot pregnant lady!
Kate was tired, too.
Is a phone more interesting then the Statue of Liberty? I guess it is when you are 3!

This, That and Other Stuff...
Today I am getting ready for our THIRD set of visitors! It has been a fun month. I also started our baby registry on amazon.com! I'm pretty sure I've squealed a couple times while picking out baby items I can't believe how cute baby things are! Joel doesn't seem to be as thrilled as I am....That's okay. I'll let him drive the big truck to pick up our baby crib. That does not excite me at all! (especially in this New Jersey traffic).
Joel and I have decided to use cloth diapers and wipes. I know...crazy granola for me, right?? Well, I've researched it quite a bit. Cloth diapers are actually not any better for the environment than disposables unless you line dry them (I can't promise I will always line dry our babies nappies). We made the decision based purely on the financial benefits. How UNgreen of me, right?
We've also decided to use a product called "Woombie." It's like a zip up swaddler that can't come undone like a blanket! I've read a lot of RAVE reviews about them. They help with startle reflex, guard against SIDS and the baby can't wriggle out of them like they can with a blanket. Anybody out there use Woombies?
So, that's what is New in Jersey right now! Baby stuff, visitors and more baby stuff!

Week 23
Now you all know what I look like post workout, after a night of sleeping on wet hair AND sans makeup! Lucky, Joel...huh?? (ha ha j/k). You may have noticed that I've skipped a few weeks (20 to be exact) of pregnancy pictures . This is because I usually work out JUST before Joel gets home and I never feel photo worthy. I decided to go for it today....or there would be NO documentation of my first pregnancy!
